The act of testing markets (small businesses)

Today’s discussion: whether a business idea should be tested in markets before making it available to customers or not? I think one could use (if nothing else) at least common sense in decisions concerning the amount of information that is given to markets before a solution is in market-ready condition. One should remember that it is a great risk to shout out trade secrets, especially if the solution is easy / cheap to deploy and competitors are likely to have resources for faster deployment than you would. Furthermore, there is a difference in what is a preliminary marketing research result and an actual sales figure. The amount of preparatory work should be proportional to the expected size of business and to the efforts that are needed for deployment. A trend that emphasizes the importance of business models has been ongoing for quite a while. lähetetty: 15. tammikuuta 2016, 10:58 Johanna Sandman
