Needs versus Tasks
Almost the first thing I learned about business was to focus on true customer needs. It is not seldom, I
think, that we are keen on focusing on solely on existing solutions instead of keeping our mind open also
to alternative ways and substitutes.
Nowadays, we are often presented with a view that includes a lot of work that should be done, educated
unemployed people, and inability to match the resources with the existing vacancies. Are we
concentrating on the right issue? It seems to me that the challenge is a situation, where we should be
able:
- to find substitute ways to deal with tasks that have no potential to bring value added and
- to create value added with new solutions, including the created substitutes.
I consider increase in exports and diminishing public cost a better starting point to welfare than increase
in debt and no substitutes to work that we cannot afford to pay for.
What I interpret form certain happenings is resistance to change, fear, efforts to control, inability to
understand the situation, legislation and processes that do not serve the existing situation, and
reluctance rely on the motivation and skills of individuals.
I think that we need skills, knowledge, and determination.
